Frames and Clues

The images integrate two contradictory approaches to create and explore pictorial space. Frames reference the vertical sectioning of the composition that define, divide and unite the picture plane, creating multiple passages within the composition. Clues (from the root, clew, meaning a ball of string) reference the symbol of the tread which offers a guiding line or path through time and space.
