Artist Bio
Lenora Guarini Miller is an abstract painter who specializes in gouache and has worked as an artist in New York and New Jersey since the 1980's. Her most recent body of work, The Way the Shadows Seem to Fall, utilizes color and form as a source of physical and spiritual energy. Her abstract paintings, influenced by the works of Wassily Kandinsky and Frank Stella, invite the viewer to explore their own creative perception. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 1979 with a BFA in painting, Lenora pursued a career in the decorative arts as a textile designer. In more recent years, she has shifted into museum education and exhibition design. Throughout her years as a designer and educator, Lenora has continued to produce a rich body of abstract gouache paintings. The Way the Shadows Seem to Fall compiles paintings from 2008 - 2021 that use theme, variation, and color to examine the relationships between perception and expression as well as matter and thought.
